Kara Parker is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Virginia, Mrs. Parker pursued a master’s degree in nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University specializing in Women’s Health Care. Mrs. Parker began her career as a nurse practitioner with an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Alexandria, Virginia. She subsequently practiced at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., focusing on diagnostic testing for pelvic floor disorders, and also seeing patients in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic.
Mrs. Parker Joined Virginia Urology in 2016. She is part of our Urogynecology team and works closely with her patients as well as the other Urogynecologists patients. She is passionate about partnering with her patients to help them deal with very personal urogynecological issues. Her many clinical interests include overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract infections, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and incontinence.
