“World Pediatric Project is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization with a mission to heal critically ill children and build healthcare capacity in the world.” (1)

World Pediatric Project (WPP) is based in Richmond and is making a global impact by mobilizing teams of doctors to provide critical pediatric care in countries worldwide.

We are proud to help fund WPP’s upcoming trip to St. Vincent from October 13 – 18, 2019. WPP has been traveling to St. Vincent since 2001 with a variety of specialty care teams. The WPP urology team began visiting the area 6 years ago, and has grown a steady caseload since then. Next week, the urology team is expecting to provide expert care to 50 children.

Our own Dr. Kent Rollins and Dr. Robert Brown (as well as Dr. C.M. Kinloch Nelson who has since retired) have been making service trips with World Pediatric Project for 18 years. The upcoming trip is being made by a St. Louis, Washington University Hospital team and is being led by pediatric urologist, Dr. Doug Coplen. When we don’t have hands on deck, we still work to help WPP accomplish their mission. Our financial support helps to defray costs of travel, lodging, and supplies necessary to bring adequate medical care to the region.

Thanks so much to WPP for the work they’re doing to bring medical care to more children and to all of the doctors who contribute their time.
