Sonographer (General Abdominal, GU Emphasis)
Stony Point Office
We are currently seeking a Sonographer to join our team at Virginia Urology, a subspecialty urologic clinic specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary (kidneys, bladder, scrotum) problems.
Position Details:
Performs quality ultrasound exams in an efficient and caring manner on a wide range of out-patients being evaluated for genitourinary problems. Ensures quality imaging and proper labeling and forwards images to local PACS for dictation. Obtains and evaluates pertinent patient history, outside imaging and physical findings to aid in diagnosis. Coordinates daily ultrasound workload and patient flow, incorporating urgent add on exams into the schedule as necessary. Reviews ultrasound images with the interpreting radiologist and provides a written summary of technical findings. Assists the Radiologist when needed to perform related procedures. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the values of the practice.
Position Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasonography is preferred. Certification from American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in sonography also will be considered. Must be registered or eligible for registration by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in abdominal sonongraphy. One year of post-graduation clinical experience is preferred. Experience in GU imaging (kidneys, bladder, scrotum) preferred. Must be able to perform general abdominal/GYN scanning with Doppler as appropriate. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills and work ethic, and a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position that will work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with no on-call, night, weekend, or holiday work. The US suite is located at our Stony Point location in Richmond, although occasional travel to our other offices may be necessary.
Surgery Scheduler
Stony Point Office
We are seeking a Surgery Scheduler to work closely with patients, medical facilities, and Virginia Urology physicians and staff to schedule surgical procedures and diagnostic tests, and to coordinate pre-operative clearances. This individual also schedules pre-op and post-op appointments, preps physician charges, submits surgical and consult charges, and performs related administrative duties. Although this individual will work primarily at our Stony Point and Monument offices, the scheduler will work where needed when his or her assigned physician is not in office. Compensation is provided for travel time and mileage between offices during the work day. This position requires a working knowledge of insurance company requirements and the correct application of CPT and ICD-9 codes; the ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail, and to appropriately prioritize work; strong communication and customer service skills; and computer proficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a physician’s secretary scheduling surgical procedures/tests or working in patient registration. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position eligible for benefits. Typical work schedule is Monday through Thursday, nine hours per day and four hours on Friday morning. Occasional Friday afternoon work is required.
RN - Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Stony Point Office
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work in pre and post-op at our Stony Point Ambulatory Surgery Center. The PACU RN prepares patients for procedures, starts IVs, completes paperwork and secures signed consents. Receives patients post-surgery and recovers them in a timely manner while ensuring the patient can be safely discharged. Conducts patient and family education and ensures the patient has a post-op appointment to return for follow-up. Reviews patient charts for completeness and calls patients to provide instructions prior to surgery. Calls post-op to check on progress and answer patient questions regarding their procedure and recovery. This position requires at least one year of PACU experience, current licensure by the Virginia State Board, and CPR certification. No nights, weekends or holiday work. This is a full-time position eligible for benefits.
RN or LPN - Office Nurse

We are seeking an RN or LPN to provide high quality patient care and physician support in a clinic office setting. We require at least one year of med/surg nursing experience in a hospital setting, one year of nursing experience in a physician’s office, current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing, and current CPR certification. Urology experience is a plus. This position requires strong organization and time management skills as well as clinical expertise. Although based at our Hanover office, occasional travel to other office locations will be required. Compensation is provided for travel to offices outside of the Richmond area, and for travel between offices during the work day. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position eligible for benefits. The typical work schedule is Monday through Thursday, nine hours per day, and four hours on Friday morning with occasional Friday afternoon work required.
RN - Operating Room

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate RN to render professional patient care at our Stony Point Ambulatory Surgery Center. At least one-year of med-surg and operating room experience, including surgical assisting and circulating experience, are required. Also requires licensure by the Virginia State Board and current CPR certification. Urology experience and ACLS/PALS certification are a plus. The RN - OR works Monday through Friday with no on-call, night, weekend, or holiday work. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position that is eligible for benefits.
Coordinator - Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Stony Point Office
We are seeking an experienced RN to fill the PACU Coordinator position at our Stony Point ambulatory surgery center. The PACU Coordinator is responsible for managing the delivery of pre-operative testing services and post-operative care by nurses and other medical staff, and works with the OR nurse coordinator, physicians, and ancillary departments to deliver optimal patient care. Plans, implements and evaluates post-operative care to achieve positive patient outcomes. Schedules staff for efficient patient flow and facilitates the daily surgery schedule with interaction between the OR and Holding area. Develops and mentors staff, including conducting annual evaluations. The coordinator provides direct patient care as needed. This position requires graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; current licensure by the Virginia State Board; knowledge of the operation of PACU suites, current nursing processes and skills; at least one year of experience supervising a PACU; and current CPR and ACLS certifications. PALS certification is a plus. The PACU Coordinator works Monday through Friday with no on-call, night, weekend, or holiday work. This position is eligible for full-time benefits.
