Office Manager
West Broad Office
We are seeking an experienced, service-oriented professional to manage the front office at our Reynolds Crossing clinic location, opening in June 2012. The manager will work at our West Broad office until the new location opens. This individual will manage the non-clinical staff to ensure a smooth, efficient office workflow and positive patient relations. This position is responsible for the patient check-in, registration and check-out staff, and for the switchboard operators at this office. The office manager works closely with Virginia Urology’s administration department staff to enhance overall office efficiency and implement procedural improvements. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of medical office management experience, excellent communication and management skills, experience with computer-based practice management and electronic medical records systems, and Microsoft Office products.
Surgery Scheduler
Hanover Medical Park Office
We are seeking a Surgery Scheduler to work closely with patients, medical facilities, and with our physicians and staff to schedule surgical procedures and diagnostic tests, and to coordinate pre-operative clearances. This individual also schedules pre-op and post-op appointments, preps physician charges, submits surgical and consult charges, and performs related administrative duties. Although this individual will be based at our Hanover office on the campus of Memorial Regional Medical Center, the scheduler will work where needed at any of our other offices when his or her assigned physician is not in office. Compensation is provided for travel time and mileage between offices during the work day. This position requires a working knowledge of insurance company requirements and the correct application of CPT and ICD-9 codes; the ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail, and to appropriately prioritize work; strong communication and customer service skills; and computer proficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a physician’s secretary scheduling surgical procedures/tests or working in patient registration. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position eligible for benefits. Typical work schedule is Monday through Thursday, nine hours per day and four hours on Friday morning. Occasional Friday afternoon work is required.
Medical Records Clerk - Chart Prep
Stony Point Office
We are seeking a Medical Records clerk to work at our Stony Point office. Using an electronic medical records system, the medical records clerk prepares charts for patients with upcoming clinic appointments to ensure that our physicians have access to necessary medical information at the time of the patient’s visit, including office notes from referring physicians and the results of pertinent laboratory and other medical tests. This requires reviewing physicians’ appointment schedules to correctly identify the information that will be needed by the physician and contacting referring doctors, laboratories and other medical facilities to secure the information in a timely manner. The medical records clerk also monitors physicians’ schedules and communicates with the clinical staff to properly prioritize chart preparation and secure records for add-on and same-day patients. This position requires computer and keyboarding proficiency. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone, properly prioritize work, respond promptly to requests from our physicians and their staff, and to recognize and differentiate medical documentation are essential in this position. Prior medical records experience is strongly preferred. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position that is eligible for benefits.
