Pharmacy Technician

Virginia Urology is seeking a part time Certified Pharmacy Technician to work in the in-house dispensary at our Stony Point office. This individual would work Monday through Friday (20 – 30 hours) assisting our full-time pharmacy technician with completing pharmacy dispensing orders written by our providers.  The technician will interact with our physicians and nursing staff to secure approvals to dispense medications, and with patients on the phone and in person when they order and pick up prescription medications.  They also will arrange for the delivery of prescribed medications to our other clinic offices in the Richmond area.

This position requires a current certification as a pharmacy technician and at least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital-based pharmacy, along with a strong customer service focus, good computer skills, and the ability to work well with a wide variety of clinic staff and physicians.

Communications Specialist

We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and service-oriented Communications Specialist for our Reynolds Crossing office. The communications specialist answers a high volume of incoming calls, makes patient appointments for clinic office visits, and directs callers to physicians and staff throughout our practice.  The ideal candidate will have a clear and professional speaking voice, answer calls with a smile, and enjoy communicating with and assisting our patients.  At least one year of call center customer service experience is required.  Accurate typing, spelling, grammar and computer keyboarding skills are required to document and route calls in our electronic medical records system.  Training in our computerized phone system will be provided.  This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position that is eligible for benefits.  The communications specialists work Monday through Friday, eight hours per day.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Virginia Urology is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to render high quality patient care. We have openings in our Richmond, Hanover and Emporia/Prince George offices. The selected candidates will provide patient treatments under the supervision of a physician; assist patients who call in with medical questions or prescription refill requests; and support a physician in clinic as needed. We require at least one year of med/surg nursing experience in a hospital setting plus one year of office nursing, current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing, and current CPR certification.  Urology experience is strongly preferred.  In addition to strong clinical expertise, this position requires excellent organization and time management skills, computer proficiency, and experience working with an electronic medical records system. Our LPNs work Monday through Friday 40 hours per week. Senior Applications Analyst 

Stony Point Office

Virginia Urology, a large and growing specialty physician practice that has served Central Virginia for over 75 years, is seeking a Senior Applications Analyst to join its Information Technology department. The Senior Applications Analyst will be responsible for administration of our Centricity Practice Solution application. These duties include training and supporting our staff and providers on the use of Centricity; developing reports using SQL and Crystal Reports; CCC, VFE, LinkLogic and Qvera administration; and eRX administration and support.  In addition, there may be other duties as assigned. This position requires experience with GE CPS 12 and its components, an understanding of clinical workflow, and the ability to train users. An associate degree in Information Systems is required, a bachelor’s degree is preferred.  The analyst must be able to lift and carry 45 pounds and to sit, stand and walk throughout the workday.  The analyst will be based at our Stony Point office in Richmond, Virginia and occasionally will travel to our other offices.  This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, position with occasional weekend work required.


Registered Nurses – OR (PRN)

Stony Point and Hanover Ambulatory Surgery Centers

We are seeking skilled, compassionate Operating Room nurses to work on a PRN basis at our Stony Point and Hanover ambulatory surgery centers.  The OR nurses work in the surgical scrub position or the circulating position.  They assist with chart review on the day prior to the procedure, prepare patients for their procedure, start IV’s, complete paperwork and secure signed consents.  As needed, the OR nurses assist with recovering patients, escort them to the dressing rooms with family present, complete patient teaching, and make post-op appointments and post-op phone calls.  We require at least one year of nursing experience in the OR, licensure as a registered nurse by the Virginia State Board, and current CPR certification.   Urology experience and ACLS/PALS certification are a plus.  Our surgery centers are open Monday through Friday with no night, weekend or on-call work.
