Dr. Robert Brown Discusses New Prostate Cancer Detection on ABC News

Posted: November 4, 2014

UroNav is a revolutionary new test that can better detect prostate cancer with pinpoint accuracy. Invivo brings the power of MRI to the urology suite with the introduction of the UroNav Fusion Biopsy System – the next generation of prostate care.

Targeted MR/ultrasound biopsy is poised to become the new standard in prostate care. UroNav fuses pre-biopsy MR images of the prostate with ultrasound-guided biopsy images in real time, for excellent delineation of the prostate and suspicious lesions, as well as clear visualization of the biopsy needle.

Dr. Robert Brown of Virginia Urology was featured on ABC 8 WRIC showcasing how UroNav works. The report featured one of Dr. Brown’s patient, Allen Morris, a moderate-to-high risk patient who was treated using UroNav technology. Because his father had prostate cancer, Morris began getting regular PSA screenings at age 40. Dr. Brown found ever-increasing levels of the cancer indicator in his blood, but two biopsies came back negative. When Morris learned that Virginia Urology was now offering UroNav, he opted to try it.
